Take part in focus group on 16th May to help research into trans experiences across Europe

We are collaborating with international research group the ICF to conduct important Europe-wide research relating to transgender people’s experiences, especially in regard to legal gender recognition.

This research is being done on behalf of the European Commission's Directorate General for Justice. We really believe in this research and we think it could lead to positive change for trans people across Europe so we want to make sure it gets the attention that it warrants. It is vital that the voices of our community are heard as part of this process so please consider participating if you are free to do so.

A little bit about the project:

“The research aims to understand the socio-economic situation of transgender people living in different countries, and any forms of disadvantage/discrimination they may have experienced in different aspects of their lives, based on their gender identity. The focus of the research will be on whether and how national procedures for legal gender recognition link to the well-being and socio-economic position of transgender people. It is critical for our project to capture the views and experiences of transgender people.”

This research will give the ICF, "an understanding of your situation and experiences, and inform the findings of our research and recommendations for public authorities at national and European level."

We are holding a focus group on Thursday, 16th May from 6 - 8 pm in TENI HQ (10 Ellis Quay, Dublin 7). Some travel expenses can be covered, so please let us know if that's something we can help with. If you’d like to take part or would like more information please email

Also, did we mention pizza? There will be lots of pizza. Obviously.

We hope to see you there!
