MEDIA NOTICE: EU Elections - LGBT Hustings
Event Details: Wednesday 30th April, 8pm, Wood Quay Venue

EU Elections – LGBT Hustings
This Wednesday, 30th April, candidates running in the Dublin constituency for EU Parliament elections will discuss how they can promote equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people at European level.
This is an important event as it is the first time an LGBT Hustings has been held in Dublin for candidates running for seats at EU level.
Hosted by GLEN and TENI and chaired by Seamus Dooley, Irish Secretary, NUJ, the LGBT Hustings provides the opportunity for the candidates to present their views on Europe’s role in promoting LGBT equality. It also affords the candidates the opportunity to hear directly from the LGBT community about the issues that most effect them.
The EU is a key driver of LGBT equality. The next parliament will be vital in ensuring that the momentum for progress continues, and that meaningful and substantive gains are made for all LGBT citizens of the EU.
Date: Wednesday 30th April.
Time: 8:00pm
Venue: Wood Quay Venue – Dublin City Council Offices
Ends
