TENI's Submission to SPCC
The Irish Government is due to formally present Ireland’s Fourth Periodic Report under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) to the United Nations’ Human Rights Committee in July 2014.
The Seanad Public Consultation Committee (SPCC) invited Interested individuals and organisations to submit written submissions on key priorities and challenges facing Ireland in complying with its obligations under the ICCPR. TENI took the opportunity to submit the report, Human Rights Violations in Ireland on the Basis of Gender Identity and Intersex Status.
In August 2013, TENI submitted a report to the Country Report Task Forces of the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Committee on the occasion of its compiling a List of Issues on Ireland’s implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights at the 109th session. This took place in Geneva, Switzerland, in October and November, 2013.
