Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) seeks an Office and Communications Manager to join our team. TENI works to advance the rights and equality of transgender people in Ireland.

The Office and Communications Manager will oversee the day-to-day office operations and manage the TENI office. This position provides administrative support and handles external communications, under the direction of the Chief Executive.

We are looking for someone with a flexible and energetic personality and the ability to prioritise multiple demands with tight deadlines in a fast paced environment. The applicant should be highly organised and be goal and detail oriented.  An understanding of human rights, especially transgender rights, and their application to Ireland would be an asset.  

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including staff, interns and volunteers.
  • Implement and maintain office administrative systems.
  • Assist in the management of financial records including payroll, monthly book keeping and accounts and reimbursements.
  • Provide administrative support to events such as seminars and conferences.
  • Support in the creation, production and distribution of marketing and communications materials for the organisation across all channels (i.e. web, print, e-newsletters, social media, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain TENI’s website, social media and e-newsletter lists.
  • Support in the preparation of TENI’s promotional/educational materials.
  • First point of contact for media engagement, including press releases, distribution and follow-up.

Skills

  • Excellent leadership, management and networking skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of office management.
  • Demonstrable project management skills.
  • Excellent competency in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to accurately explain, summarise and convey complex information to a diverse range of audiences.
  • Proven high quality communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good practical knowledge of digital marketing and social media techniques.
  • Experience with web-based programs such as Wufoo, Mailchimp, etc. is an asset.
  • Highly organised with an ability to work well under pressure and ensure deadlines are met.

The salary for this position is €28,000 per annum. This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week), with a six month probationary period.
