Examining aspects of trans and intersex life across the island of Ireland, from Recognition to Health, Families to Employment, this represents a landmark publication featuring trans voices and people who work for trans rights.

The Dublin Trans Peer Support Group started in April 2005 and is the longest running group in Ireland. The group meets every second Wednesday. It provides an inclusive and supportive environment for those who have been diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder, who feel they have a gender identity issue, and who are exploring their gender role. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for people to feel accepted and accept and explore their own gender identity.

The National Lesbian & Gay Federation (NLGF) in conjunction with Dublin City Council Social Inclusion Unit and The Community Foundation for Ireland is organising the first conference in Ireland to examine the issues of poverty and social exclusion in the LGBT community.
The event will explore how issues relating to poverty, economic inequality and multiple disadvantage impact upon LGBT people. The conference will also act as a platform for LGBT organisations and anti-poverty/community development organisations to discuss solutions to address poverty and inequality amongst LGBT people.
